Green Belt and Black Belt Training
Six Sigma Green Belts come from any level or any function within the organization. They are trained (5-day class) in the DMAIC process. Green belts may serve as team members on Black Belt project teams. They are also qualified to lead teams where higher-level statistical analysis is not required. Green Belts can contribute to the organization’s success within their own job functions.
Six Sigma Black Belts are chosen because of their potential leadership and facilitation skills. They receive four weeks of training over an extended time frame where they learn Six Sigma tools, including advanced statistical analysis techniques. Black Belts may become subject matter experts on statistical analysis and quality improvement. Black Belts exhibit leadership and facilitation skills as they lead teams in the resolution of critical problems and generate exceptional savings for the organization.
It is recommended that Black Belts bring a list of potential Black Belt projects that have been approved by their management team to the first week of training. A Black Belt project can be selected from this list so that implementation can begin as skills are learned.
Design for Six Sigma
Training
Design for Six Sigma participants are members of the design and development teams in their organizations. In a five-day training session, participants learn the DMADV process along with tools they can apply to the design and development process. Emphasis is placed on verification and validation to ensure that design outputs meet the design input requirements. DFSS participants are focused on meeting customer needs and expectations.
